How To Enable Windows Automatic Updates
with WindowsXP

1. Click with the left mouse button on the Start Button
   
   
2. Click with the left mouse button on Control Panel in the menu
   
   
3. Double click with the left mouse button on the Automatic Updates icon in the Control Panel window. 
   If you do not see this icon, go to this website, windowsupdate.microsoft.com and follow the instructions to download the latest version of Windows Update.
   
   
   
   
4. Click with the left mouse button on the circle next to "Automatic (recommended)" so a dot appears in the circle.  Or if you don't have WindowsXP Service Pack 2 and don't want to get it, click with the left mouse button on the circle next to "Download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them."
   
   
   
   OR
   
   
   
   
5. Click with the left mouse button on OK.  
   
6. Finally, close the Control Panel window by clicking on the "X" in the upper right hand corner.
